BIOINWASTE project

On 28 April 2023, the second day of the spring school "EU implementation of bioenergy technologies for waste recycling" under the Jean Monnet module "Bioenergy innovations in waste management: European experience in implementing a circular economy" (BIOINWASTE) of the EU Erasmus+ program, dedicated to Bioeconomy as a basic for green growth, the relationship between the circular economy and biotechnology in various industries and the green course of biotechnology growth.

The seminar featured a conversation with experts in this field: Associate Professor Dr. Hynek Roubík (Czech University of Life Sciences Prague) shared strategies and action plans for the development of the circular bioeconomy, provided overview of the topic in relation with biogas and also provided information about two European funded projects: CEE2ACT and BIOECO-UP.

Afterwards, Dr. Joachim Venus (Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy, Germany) spoke about lignocellulosic biomass and waste as potential substrates for industrial biotechnology.
