Congratulations to Professor Le Dinh Phung - Appointed Rector of the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University
The BioResources and Technology (BRT) Division congratulates Professor Le Dinh Phung on his appointment as Rector of the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University (HUAF), Vietnam.
Professor Phung is a distinguished Vietnamese academic with extensive experience in animal science, livestock production, sustainable agriculture, waste management and rural development. Throughout his academic career, he has supervised numerous master’s and doctoral students, coordinated international research projects and contributed extensively to scientific literature in animal science and rural development.
A Long-Standing Partnership with BRT and CZU
Professor Phung has been a long-standing partner of the BioResources and Technology Division and the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ) at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU).
Over many years, this cooperation has developed through joint international research projects, scientific publications, knowledge exchange and staff and student mobility. Professor Phung has also contributed to capacity-building initiatives connecting Vietnamese and European partners, the joint supervision of doctoral students and the development of long-term institutional cooperation between Hue University and CZU.
In an interview about the Czech–Vietnamese partnership, Professor Phung described how the collaboration developed from its initial development-project activities to include biogas research and exchanges of students and staff. The cooperation further supported regular visits by CZU researchers and students to HUAF for research and data collection. This established partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing research, education and practical solutions for sustainable agricultural and rural development.
Professor Phung’s appointment as Rector represents an important new chapter for HUAF and further strengthens the strategic relationship between the institutions. It also creates new opportunities to expand collaboration in research, education and innovation, including through future Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ initiatives.
