Meet our new intern - Chin Hui Ween
To broaden and develop our teams’ collaborative skills while offering visiting students the chance to expand their scientific networks and gain cultural experiences, BRT encourages students to join our team for internship opportunities. These internships aim to facilitate idea exchange, foster professional growth, and create opportunities for collaboration. Meet the new intern joining our team from Malaysia, Chin Hui Ween (Vivian)!
Hi there! My name is Vivian from the Southeast Asia- Malaysia!
During my undergraduate years, I conducted a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) project that assessed greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from broiler production. Through this project, I developed a strong interest in GHG accounting and in converting feedstock into valuable products that can be reintegrated into the production system, contributing to a circular economy.
After resigning from my role as a Veterinary Assistant in a broiler production company, I pursued my studies at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) as a joint master’s program student, focusing on Sustainable Agriculture.
I'm participating as an intern in the BioResources and Technology Division (BRT) laboratory team, as I feel that their objectives align with my academic background and career aspirations. I am excited to gain practical, hands-on experience in anaerobic digestion and other ongoing projects within BRT. I will be participating in anaerobic digestion using lignocellulosic substrates to determine their biogas potential.
I am looking forward to joining the team and contributing to ongoing research while further developing my skills in sustainable bioresource technologies.
