Meet our new intern - Kshitij Agrawal
Hello, I’m Kshitij from India. I moved from Mumbai to Prague to study politics, having taken interest in communications, events & technology related areas.
I moved to Prague for an MA in International Relations at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VSE). Understanding the legal, humanitarian and financial facets of policy & systems amid global problems & globalization disruption drove me to analyze in interest areas of policy for digital technology & society: My master’s thesis understood ignorance generation in India’s viral Digital Disinformation scandals. Further, I completed a research paper focused on the policy absorption of the EU Green Deal in Global South countries, specifically Brazil & Indonesia. Additionally, I’ve discussed governance gaps & emerging economy risks in Bologna, Italy. Overall, the communicative range from roundtables, briefs & comparative papers on ‘climate refugees’, green natural resources, migration, power politics and cybersecurity were interesting policy insights.
Earlier, my Bachelor’s in Mass Media at the University of Mumbai fused creative workflows with multidisciplinary studies in marketing, film, journalism and multimedia analysis. What started with identifying stakeholders quickly turned into careful assessment and creative problem solving with attention to detail - thanks in big part to hands-on team projects. It helped to have a diverse curriculum where one could interview experts for documentaries, review cinema stereotypes, design web-pages to magazines, document citizen movements, and start a fashion brand or a gen-z blog. The most important part? Listening & constructively networking to get the right people on board, or onto your webinar. My experience with Potencia & Avsarr was helpful to implement text-graphic design with limited space and attention span for impact besides providing to-the-point FAQ solutions and webinar pitches.
That’s where my interest crosses paths with BRT objectives, I believe concise communication can drive better policy while aiding its absorption in most pressing issues of implementing sustainability & catalyzing it with technology. Hence albeit with a slightly different core study, BRT’s communications & project management tracks have a wide aperture ranging from grassroots initiatives to circular economy design to scalable open knowledge solutions with the OSIRIS project. I really appreciate the chance to work with a versatile group of researchers. I’m grateful that the Czech University of Life Sciences (CZU) provides a great vantage point to familiarize myself with the EU’s research grant landscape. I’m excited to bring creative visualization and engagement skills to the table, and consolidate strategic communications and real-world collaboration.
Interests wise, I’m energized observing people adapt and share their perspectives, so I tend to socialize and hyperfocus on cultures. I’ve co-founded Couch Potato Evenings, a culture exchange event series in Prague since 2024. Further, I enjoyed volunteering at an English Conversation Club with Diakonie CC to help new migrants share about their culture and passively build public speaking confidence, back in 2022. I also developed my interest in travel & history at my Erasmus+ at University of Bologna. My other interests include photography, cooking, hiking, football, and learning new languages.
My main long term goal is to add Global South-inclusive research to today’s AI and platform-driven society. I’d like to add both cross-disciplinary thought from communication, digital humanities to more qualitative and data-driven inclusivity, as well as streamline the openness and access of knowledge in an exponentially potent digital landscape.
