Meet our new intern - Maame Mesiwah Andzie-Quainoo
To broaden and develop our teams’ collaborative skills while offering visiting students the chance to expand their scientific networks and gain cultural experiences, BRT encourages students to join our team for internship opportunities. These internships aim to facilitate idea exchange, foster professional growth, and create opportunities for collaboration. Meet the new intern joining our team from Ghana, Maame Mesiwah Andzie-Quainoo!
Hi there, I’m Maame Mesiwah Andzie-Quainoo, born to a noble family from Ghana in West Africa. After finishing my Bachelor's degree at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, I decided it was time to further my education outside of the academic space I knew. The primary reason I wanted to do this was to be exposed to a different culture and a welcoming space so that I would be able to explore and progress in the academic world.
And guess what? After a long and meticulous search, the Faculty of Tropical Agrisciences at the Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague was my sure bet to all the aspirations I had previously dreamed of. Being an intern at the BioResources & Technology Division (BRT) not only excites me but also provides a practical, hands-on experience that helps me better understand real-life situations and how to effectively solve them, creating lasting impacts across space and time. I firmly believe that the knowledge I gain will equip me with the skills needed to make a positive impact in diverse situations, wherever I may find myself after my studies.
When I’m not engrossed in school and work, I enjoy travelling and hiking in the mountains. Hiking provides an escape into nature and an opportunity to connect with it, offering a truly refreshing experience away from the buzz of city life. Being part of the BRT team will be a very exciting experience for me, and I look forward to learning as much as I can while contributing and supporting the team in any way possible.
Greetings from the girl from Ghana! Maame.
