As the OSIRIS project approaches its conclusion, we are bringing together researchers, institutions and stakeholders from across the research ecosystem for the final symposium, “The Legacy of OSIRIS: Open Science for Reproducible Research,” taking place in Prague on 5–6 October 2026.

The symposium will mark one of the final major milestones of OSIRIS – Open Science to Increase Reproducibility in Science and will create a space to reflect on what the project has achieved, discuss how its results can be translated into practice, and explore how the OSIRIS legacy can continue to support more transparent, trustworthy and reproducible research beyond the project’s lifetime.

We invite researchers, universities and university networks, research funders, publishers, reproducibility networks, policymakers, civil society organisations and others working across the research ecosystem to join us for two days of discussion, exchange and reflection on the future of reproducible research.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is therefore strongly encouraged.

Over the past years, OSIRIS has investigated the drivers and barriers influencing research reproducibility, assessed the evidence and effectiveness of different interventions, co-created practical tools to support reproducible research design and reporting, and tested approaches aimed at strengthening transparency and reliability in science.

From research findings to real-world change

During the symposium, the OSIRIS consortium will present key findings, project outcomes and developed tools, followed by interactive discussions with stakeholders from across the research ecosystem.

Together, participants will explore:

• how OSIRIS tools and outcomes can be adopted and implemented in practice;
• what barriers and limitations may affect their uptake;
• how research processes, incentives, institutional strategies and policies can better support reproducible science; and
• what is needed to sustain progress after the project formally comes to an end.

Stakeholder discussions will also contribute to the final refinement of OSIRIS outputs and policy recommendations, helping ensure that the project leaves behind practical and relevant resources for the wider research community.
