The Biogas Research Team is upgrading to BioResources and Technology (From BRT to BRT)
We are pleased to announce our Biogas Research Team (BRT) rebranding to the BioResources and Technology (BRT) Division. Simply from BRT to BRT. This evolution marks a milestone in our journey, reflecting the broadening scope and increasing complexity of our research and development activities. While biogas remains at the heart of our work, our rebranding to BioResources and Technology better covers the diversity of our research, the projects and our commitment to sustainable solutions for a rapidly changing world.
Why Rebranding?
The decision to rebrand came from several key motivations, each rooted in our desire to more accurately represent our comprehensive approach and expanding portfolio of research activities.
- Over the years, our team has moved far beyond the areas of biogas. Our projects now encompass a wide array of bioresources, including bioenergy, environmental aspects, food security, waste management, biotechnologies and more. This broader focus necessitates a name that more accurately captures the variety of resources and technologies we are developing and refining.
- The field of bioresources is inherently interdisciplinary, requiring expertise from environmental science, engineering, agriculture, and social sciences. The new name, BioResources and Technology, underscores our commitment to fostering collaboration across these disciplines, enhancing our ability to address complex sustainability challenges. Interdisciplinary research has always been an important aspect for us.
- The global shift towards renewable energy and sustainable practices has reinforced the importance of holistic approaches to resource management. Our new identity aligns with this global trend, positioning us in the development of innovative technologies that utilize a variety of biological resources. As it is something we have been focusing on for quite some time.
- By adopting a name that reflects our wider focus, we aim to attract a broader range of stakeholders, including potential partners, funding, and collaboration. This expanded network will enable us to scale our impact, applying our research findings to real-world challenges more effectively. Because here at BRT, we always want to eventually see our results in real-world applications.
Core Areas of Focus
Despite our broader scope, biogas remains a central pillar of our research. However, our work now also prominently features:
- Bioenergy
- Biodiversity
- Bioeconomy
- Complexity
- Food Security
- Waste Management
- Sustainable Agriculture and Aquaculture
- And much more…
Our new name, BioResources and Technology, shows our dedication to advancing sustainable solutions through rigorous research, innovative technology, and interdisciplinary collaboration. It represents our evolution from a team focused primarily on biogas to a comprehensive research division tackling a variety of bioresource challenges.
We are confident that this rebranding will open new areas for growth and collaboration, allowing us to make even greater contributions to the global pursuit of sustainability. As we move forward, we remain committed to the values and scientific excellence that have defined our work since our inception.
Thank you for your continued support and interest in our research. Together, under our new banner of BioResources and Technology, we look forward to pioneering the sustainable solutions of tomorrow.
