BRT at the OSIRIS General Assembly in London
Recently, BRT Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hynek Roubik, Communications Manager Dr. Stacy Hammond, and Digital Media Coordinator Masha Gulak represented the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) in the OSIRIS – TIER2 – iRISE Tripartite General Assembly in London, United Kingdom from 3-4 July.
OSIRIS, iRISE, and TIER2, three EU-funded projects, united in London to share, collaborate and shape the future of Open Science. Day one of the event was focused on uniting partners and key stakeholders across the three projects for the tripartite general assembly. Highlights of the joint event included sessions on preparing the next generation for careers in metascience and reproducibility, brainstorming skills and training needs, and designing a core outcome set for reproducibility interventions. There was also a discussion on equity, diversity, and inclusion. Facilitators led thoughtful conversations reflecting on both successes and the areas where projects could still improve - always with a view toward fostering a more just and inclusive research environment.
Throughout the day, participants weren’t just reporting progress; they were asking tough questions, openly sharing lessons learned, and collaborating on how to do even better! The day wrapped up with a lively interactive session on building recommendations for the future of reproducibility. Using tools like Padlet, groups co-created practical ideas focused on infrastructure and standards, training and skills development, incentives and policy, collaboration, and addressing evidence gaps.
Day 2 of the event was focused on individual meetings between each project. Members of the BRT took part in the OSIRIS General Assembly. Partners shared project updates, discussed progress across work packages, and aligned on next steps! This included BRT Director and OSIRIS WP6 lead Assoc. Prof. Hynek Roubik presenting the teams updates. Overall, it was a dynamic event, and always a pleasure to engage in person with such a passionate, collaborative community. Together, the projects are pushing forward stronger approaches to research integrity, transparency, and meaningful impact!
