CEE2ACT Becomes a Lighthouse Project
We are proud to announce that the CEE2ACT project - Empowering the Central and Eastern European Countries to Develop Circular Bioeconomy Strategies and Action Plans - has officially become a Lighthouse Project within the European research and innovation landscape.
CEE2ACT aims to accelerate the transition toward a circular bioeconomy in Central and Eastern Europe by developing national strategies and action plans that draw on the successful experiences of model countries such as Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Finland, and Sweden. The BioResources and Technology Division (BRT) participates in the project under the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU), contributing its expertise in circular solutions, sustainable resource use, and bio-based systems that support the transition toward a low-carbon and sustainable future.
Through a strong emphasis on knowledge transfer, innovative governance, and societal engagement, CEE2ACT supports participating countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia) in formulating and implementing their own bioeconomy pathways. The project brings together 17 institutions across Europe, building a dynamic network of researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders working together to foster sustainable innovation and bio-based value chains.
As a Lighthouse Project, CEE2ACT now serves as a reference and inspiration for other European initiatives aiming to build resilient and circular bioeconomies through collaboration, capacity building, and evidence-based policymaking.
