Transformative Potential of AI: My Podcast Experience

At BRT, we’re passionate about driving sustainable innovation through cutting-edge technologies. Recently, BRT junior researcher and PhD student Adam Hruška had the opportunity to be a guest on a podcast. Here are his first account insights!

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to be a guest on the Moneta Zeleně podcast, diving into the transformative implications of artificial intelligence (AI). This experience allowed me to unpack complex topics in an accessible way, sharing insights about the rapidly evolving world of AI with listeners.

The episode focused on AI's role in three key domains:

  • Agricultural Automation and Digitalization: The potential of AI to enhance productivity, sustainability, and resilience in agriculture.
  • Autonomous Driving: What are the implications of autonomous AI driven vehicles and how they should be perceived.
  • Ethics and Data Protection: The challenges and opportunities of integrating AI responsibly while safeguarding privacy and ethical considerations.

Throughout the discussion, we explored not only how AI is reshaping industries but also the unique challenges and opportunities these advancements present. In agriculture, digital tools can support precision farming, but small-scale farmers may face barriers to adoption due to costs or technical knowledge. How training data and the approaches to their collection and use pose both the biggest source of functionalities for machine learning, while also being the biggest potential threat to its successful implementation. We also talked about the ethical dilemmas surrounding AI, particularly in data privacy, underscore the importance of responsible implementation and global standards. We also talked about the implications of the generative nature of some AI models, which has implications to both visual, text and sound domains. The conversation’s lighter tone made these complex topics approachable, something I prioritized to engage a broader audience as in the current world, the understanding of omnipresent influence of the emerging AI technologies is and should be understood by the whole society.

AI is no longer a distant possibility, it’s a present reality, which we live in and which is being resharpen across industries and domains. The podcast reinforced the importance of ongoing dialogue about these changes, especially as we balance innovation with ethical responsibility. Moving forward, I’m eager to continue exploring various uses, implications and collaborations that address both opportunities and challenges AI presents. For anyone curious about AI’s role in our daily lives, this conversation might provide a fresh perspective. Stay tuned for future projects where we’ll dive deeper into these transformative technologies!
