Within the 2-year Czech-Austrian project called: “Opportunities and Challenges for Anaerobic Systems in the Global South” Dr. Nils Haneklaus arrived at his first in-person 9-day visit.
In the 2-year Austrian-Czech joint project “Opportunities and Challenges for Anaerobic Systems in the Global South,” or “GasTrade” for short, Dr. Hynek Roubík from the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) and Dr. Nils Haneklaus from Danube University Krems (DUK) and their teams will investigate the opportunities and challenges biogas production in the Global South. Specifically, we want to identify the best available techniques (BATs) for small-scale biogas production in ODA (Official Development Assistance) countries with whom the applicants have already independently cooperated.
First in-person visit at CZU was done by Dr. Nils Haneklaus from Danube University Krems (DUK) from 9th of July till 17th of July, 2022. Dr. Haneklaus has wide experiences, such as he initiated successful ongoing OeAD-Projects with Tanzania in 2020 and Namibia/Uganda in 2021 and is familiar with OeAD-projects implementation, reporting and documentation.
