Ing. Charles Ogbu, BRT Junior Researcher; PhD student
at CZU, where he is pursuing a degree in Sustainable Rural Development. He is conducting research on the environmental and techno-economic implications of resource recovery from wastewater treatment in Nigeria. His research involves the performance evaluation of wastewater treatment plants, focusing on temporal variations of energy use, treatment efficiency, and GHG emissions. He is applying Life cycle assessment (LCA) to evaluate the environmental impact of wastewater treatment operations as well as onsite energy recovery strategies. Generally, his aim is to optimize system operations and energy use and minimize environmental impacts. Other interests include artificial intelligence and machine learning for sustainability assessment.
