Aim of the Project:
The main objective of the project is to improve the access of rural households in the central Vietnam (Phong Dien and Huong Tra districts, Thua Thien Hue province) to sustainable energy resources. To use renewable sources of energy for thermal and electric energy production and to provide capacity building in this area.
Outputs of the Project:
- Construction of household level anaerobic digesters in Phong Dien and Huong Tra district to produce sufficient quantities of biogas, which cover household energy needs for cooking and possibly lighting (in accordance with the "Biogas Program for the Animal Husbandry Sector in Vietnam”, which is implemented in whole parts of the country).
- Installation of two experimental Photo-Voltaic units for monitoring an electricity production under the specific conditions in the target area.
- The implementation of the above mentioned technologies will be accompanied by information campaigns, training courses and workshops for target groups and project beneficiaries.
